It's Valentine’s day once again! The celebration of love where we can give gifts, candies, chocolates, and flowers to the ones we hold dear. We know that buying gifts can be stressful and so does making reservations in restaurants and other places. But this year (2021), Buying gifts and making reservations are even MORE stressful! Considering that some stores and restaurants are still closed and opened restaurants need to make sure that people are still maintaining their social distance from one another, they only accommodate few people which will lead to people fighting over these tables. If you didn't get the reservations, don't worry! We understand. Besides It is still a must to stay inside as much as possible. Only going out when it means necessary. We still need to keep ourselves safe throughout this pandemic. Even though it's valentine's day, the virus doesn't get to rest, you know! It is still out there.
We are sharing our ideas on how we can all spend our valentine's day with our significant others, best friends, or family while maintaining social distance! If you are spending it alone, no worries cause we made sure that you'll enjoy this too!
Coffee chilling in the morning: breakfast in bed is sweet, and what is breakfast without coffee? Why not drink coffee after your breakfast and just enjoy the day! Read some books or maybe just a conversation with whoever you’re spending your valentines with. Catch up with one another, reminisce about the past, share your thoughts with them while drinking your coffee without having to think of work, school, and other responsibilities.

Arts and crafts: If you have kids around, this would be a fantastic idea! If you are an artist or not, maybe just a kid at heart, you’re more than welcome to do this! Try painting or drawing. Put a little twist to it and dare each other to draw one another. If you’re looking for a less messy art activity, you could also write letters or make cards. But beware of the glitters. It doesn't have to be perfect, it would be cool to know your partner or friend's perspective of you. This will help your relationship as this is viewed as therapeutic. If however, you're celebrating valentine's day alone, it still a good way to connect with yourself.

Let's bake sweets: It's a tradition to give chocolates on valentine's day because it is believed to be aphrodisiacs. But one thing is for sure, is that chocolates are delicious! Since valentine's day is uniquely celebrated this year by staying indoors, let's turn things up a notch and make the chocolates together instead. If you haven't done this before, it will be quite an adventure! Make small heart shapes or maybe you could bake a cake or a cupcake with chocolate frosting or glaze. YUM!

Afternoon indoor picnic: If you still would like to surprise your valentine's date, you can set up a picnic in your living room while they are occupied, maybe you can lay down the blanket on the balcony floor, the garden maybe? Or you can also set it up on the bed. Enjoy sandwiches, fruits, or maybe enjoy a cheese board and a glass of wine.

Netflix and chill: it's probably something that we are now used to doing, even without anything to celebrate, Netflix is our go-to! But this time, let's try making a rule. NO DISTRACTION! We often watch films and get distracted by our phones. But just for this day, focus on the people around you and enjoy the film with them. It's not every day that we are excused to watch a movie without constant calls from work so make the most of this. Get your popcorn or a tub of ice cream perhaps? If you want our suggestion on movies to watch this valentine's day, check out our movie suggestions for Valentine.

Let's drive: We know that it's a bit sad to spend Valentine's day indoors when we have mostly been inside for a long time. You might need a change in scenery. We got you covered! Drive around town or maybe up a hill somewhere far away. Go through a drive-thru and buy food to enjoy on your trip. Play some music and jam along!

Dinner date: If you still prefer something fancy, you still can have that this valentine's day. We had established that reservations are hard to get but it shouldn't stop you from having an amazing 2021 valentine's day. Let's set up the dining table, light up the candles, and put out the red wine. To add more to the thoughts that count, why not make the meal itself? I'm sure that steak would be nice if you have time to cook that. Maybe you would like a delicious Italian spaghetti or pizza? You can choose whatever you like to eat or cook. If cooking isn't really your thing, take-outs and food deliveries are available. you can also play soft music and dance the night after dinner. If you're having dinner with friends or family, A good game night would be awesome!

You can mix and match these ideas. And you can improvise them on your own. Valentine's day doesn't have to be extravagant. It might be cliche to say that it is thoughts that count, but this is true. Valentine's day is celebrated to remind you of people that you consider a blessing.
We would be happy to know how your valentine's day goes. Comment down below what you did or plan this valentine's day.
