We know that being a student isn’t easy and skincare products aren’t exactly cheap.

But with all of the school stress and trying your hardest to cope up to your responsibilities, even pulling an all-nighter before an exam, we get it! It is definitely not easy to juggle, but not impossible. But here are skincare products that can be bought over the counter that you can find under $10 and could help you with keeping your skin healthy.

Facial cleansers

After washing your face with warm water, your skin still has dirt, leftover makeup, and other pollutants. And that is a complete no and could completely damage your skin. Using a facial cleanser could help you clean your face, pores deep. There is a lot of type of facial cleansers, but which one should you use for your skin type?

The facial cleansers come in foam cleansers, these are best for oily skin types as they could damage dry skin types, so be careful of what you use. For dry skin types, use cleansers that come in creams, in this way, your skin will be moisturized. If you happen to have a combination type of skin, gel-based cleansers are good to use. It keeps the skin hydrated and balances oil production. However, if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, micellar water cleansers can help you with keeping your skin cleaned gently. It is advisable to wash your face with cleansers twice a day, although if you have a dry skin type it is better for you to use it once a day.

Toners

Toners make sure that the facial cleanser didn’t live any traces of grimes or pollutants. furthermore, it also helps with shrinking the pores after cleansing them deeply. It also has a very big impact on how your skin looks good. Like Facial cleansers, toners come in different types: Glycerin for dry skin types, Witch hazel for oily skin types, Lactic acid for combination skin types, and salicylic acid to help skin types that are sensitive and prone to acne. For better results, use toner morning and night as well but for dry skin type use of toners should be once a day or every other day.

Moisturizer

Moisturizer helps with preventing skin problems by keeping it moisturized, oil balanced, and protected. Having both extreme oiliness of skin or dryness can cause your skin to develop acne. The moisturizer is responsible to keep your skin not to be too dry or too oily. When you start to use moisturizers you can feel that your skin would also start to feel smooth. Using it twice a day, morning and night can help you improve the health of your skin.

Sunscreen

The sun could be a little too harsh or damaging to the skin. Whether we spend the days (mostly) indoors or outdoors, UV rays are still everywhere! Wearing sunscreen will protect your skin from developing any skin disease. Be aware that if you have dry skin, use sunscreen with moisturizer to avoid skin irritations.

Tips for putting on sunscreen: avoid putting a big amount on your hand and rubbing it on your face as it could be too harsh for your skin and could lead to damage, instead use a dot system on your face and gently apply to the rest of the area, in this way it absorbs evenly and effectively.

Lipbalms

Lips have skin too! When you are so busy with learning your lessons and giving your best in school presentations, you might not notice but your lips are getting chapped! And that could be quite painful. Whether the temperature is too hot or too cold it can affect and damage your skin. Using a lip balm can help you keep the moisture of lips locked in, and there are so many flavors or scents to choose from.

I am proud of you!

School is important and I am very proud of how you work hard. But it is important to take care of yourself. Forgetting to eat proper food and drink water could also affect your skin condition and as well as your mental and physical health. Take a break once in a while and allow yourself to breathe and unwind. If you’re looking for ways to unwind yourself before an exam check out: Ways to unwind before an exam.
